Santana Fertility Centre is on the 3rd Floor, Sahana Annex, Adarsh Colony, Sindhanur, Karnataka 584128. You can find a map and directions on our Contact page.

Your doctor will listen to your history, review any previous reports and discuss which tests or treatments may help. It is a conversation, and you can ask as many questions as you like.

Please bring any previous medical reports, scans and test results, a list of medicines you take, and any questions you have written down. You are welcome to bring your partner or a family member.

Fertility involves both partners, so attending together is helpful, but you can come alone for a first conversation. Some tests will need both partners at some stage.

Consultations are private and respectful. Your care team will explain how your information is handled when you visit.

Fertility Basics

If you have been trying to conceive for a year without success, or for six months if the woman is 35 or older, or if you have a known condition or concern, an early consultation is a good idea.

Common tests include ovarian reserve tests such as AMH and an ultrasound count of follicles, a semen analysis, a check of ovulation, and a check of the fallopian tubes and uterus. Your doctor will advise which tests are needed in your case.

Yes. Male-factor causes account for a substantial share of fertility difficulties, which is why a semen analysis is usually one of the first tests.

Yes. Egg quantity and quality decline with age, and sperm quality can change over time too, usually more gradually. This is one reason an early assessment can be helpful.

A healthy weight, not smoking, limiting alcohol, a balanced diet and managing stress can support general and reproductive health. They do not replace a medical assessment when one is needed.

Treatments

In vitro fertilisation combines eggs and sperm in a laboratory, and a healthy embryo is then placed in the uterus. You can read more on our IVF Treatment page.

IUI places prepared sperm directly into the uterus so that fertilisation happens inside the body. IVF fertilises eggs in a laboratory and then transfers an embryo. Your doctor will explain which may suit you.

ICSI is a laboratory technique in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg, used as part of an IVF cycle. It is often considered for male-factor infertility. See ICSI Treatment for details.

Hormone injections help several eggs mature, the eggs are collected in a short procedure under sedation, and they are frozen and stored for possible later use. Read more about Egg Freezing.

Embryo genetic testing, known as PGT, can check embryos created through IVF for certain chromosome or inherited conditions. It is only suitable in specific situations and always begins with counselling. See Genetic Screening.

Experiences vary. Injections cause mild discomfort, and procedures such as egg collection are done under sedation. Your care team will explain what to expect at each stage and how discomfort is managed.

No fertility treatment can guarantee pregnancy. Outcomes depend on many factors, including age and the cause of infertility, and your doctor will discuss your individual situation openly.

This varies from person to person. Some people conceive in the first cycle, while others need several or may be advised to consider different options. Your doctor will review each cycle with you.

Costs, Planning and Support

Costs depend on the treatment, the tests and medicines needed, and the number of cycles. Your doctor will explain the likely costs at your consultation so that you can plan with confidence.

It helps to ask what is included, such as tests, medicines, procedures, embryo freezing and storage, what may cost extra, and what happens if a cycle has to be cancelled.

Many people continue working during treatment. Some steps, such as egg collection or embryo transfer, need a day or part of a day, and your doctor will tell you what to plan for.

Yes. You are welcome to bring earlier reports and ask questions about your situation, and your doctor will go through them with you.

Yes. Fertility difficulties can be stressful, and infertility counselling offers a private space to talk, whether or not you are having treatment.
